Director for large Multi-Specialty Medical Group practice Clinical and Nursing staff, and clinical aspects of quality improvement initiatives with in the group practice, and overall care coordination processes and care coordinators for Group Practice transition to fully integrated value focused care processes and population health management. Key Focus Areas: Nursing and Clinical Staffing Standards and Operation: Establishes plans and implements processes for hiring/retention/training/clinical standards/clinical protocols/education and licensure for large multi-specialty physician group practice nursing and clinical support staff.
Compliance Standards: Maintains current knowledge for all regulatory and legislative requirements, state licensure and scope of practice requirements, etc. for compliance with OSHA, TOSHA, CLIA, Nursing, Medical Assistants, Pharmaceutical, and laboratory etc. Develops and maintains all necessary certification documentation for staff, advising on hiring standards and ongoing skills training and validation. Develops relationships with Clinical training institutions, inclusive of affiliation agreements and maintains standards and monitoring of all clinical, nursing students (including NP and Pas) and appropriate documentation for approval and clearance to train, shadow or observe within any Medical Group practice outpatient sites or inpatient portion of practice. Development and Oversight of all Clinical Affiliations for Nurse Practitioners, P.A.s, Nursing and Certified Medical Assistants. (All clinical staffing related other than MD residents or fellowships - Currently 17 different contracted affiliated programs) Care Coordination: Will lead development and implementation of transitions of care re-design to focus on value based care and clinical quality measurement and outcomes initiatives. Inclusive of:
Clinical Quality Consultation and Improvement Initiatives: Works with Group Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director-Quality, and Group Operational and Administrative Leadership on Quality initiatives, measurement tracking, data assessment and implementation of patient care and BOC work flow improvements. Supporting systematic approach to patient centered and coordinated health are services. Provides clinical interpretation and evaluation of Physician Quality goal programs, including interpretation and intermediary between System and Hospital Qualtiy departments and Group’s Physicians. Tracking and reporting, coordination of clinical performance areas for focus in Group practice PQRS, and Meaningful Use program attestations to satisfy CMS, Commercial Insurance and other health related payors, regulators or legislation associate with clinical quality measurements and outcomes. Clinical Quality Management effect PQRS’ Value Base Modifier both cost & quality data will be included in calculating Medicare payments for providers, clinical quality results will impact Meaningful Use Medicare and Medicaid payment penalties as well as incentives. Participates in group Board of Director’s Qualtiy Committee meetings and provides updates and seeks input from Committee. Leads long term initiatives approved by this committee in the areas of:
General Responsibilities: Design strategic business initiatives, processes and communication plans in areas of responsibility. Supports fostering of patient, physician and employee safety and satisfaction. Pursues standardization of systems and processes, support staffing models, policies. Identification of efficiencies, and assists and advising the financial oversight of clinical nursing and staffing protocols and levels, and patient care work flows. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 10 years progressive clinical work experience, 10+ years outcome oriented leadership experience, including active participation in Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement Initiatives and Care Plans/Protocols. Strong clinical background; large group medical practice experienced preferred.
Education Bachelor's degree; Master’s Degree in HealthCare Administration Preferred Nursing Undergraduate Degree required, Master in Nursing Preferred
Training & Special Skills & Experience: Knowledge of health care issues and trends, legal compliance, managed care, population health management, value based payment models, clinical nursing operations, and quality improvement initiatives. Ability to foster collaborative partnerships in the development, implementation and administration of service and program delivery. Nursing Administration certification.
